Fall has really been here for awhile with all her glory. But today it was apparent we live in the Northwest! A Fall storm blew through here depositing buckets of rain and blowing the majority of the leaves off the trees. Fortunately, we went for a drive on Monday down Hood Canal to check out all the colors and to give VG a chance to take some photos. We also checked out my mom's lake house just to make sure everything was OK. What a great day---the trees were glorious, red vine maples and yellow big leaf maples against the greens of the conifers. And the canal was beautiful---it's always different every time we are on that road.
We have never gone to a pumpkin patch in the fall before and we are really looking forward to our trip to one on Saturday. We are going with a dear friend, her husband, my niece and her kids. I know it will be so much fun, especially with kids showing us around.
As far as my projects---I've been spinning some wool that I acquired at a local farm. This particular bump is ecru with a few scant fibers of green, yellow, and dark aqua. I spun and Navajo plied about 4 oz. of a variegated pink, and did the same to 4 oz. of an alpaca /silk batt that is a mix of blue, green with white silk. I'm also knitting a pair of fingerless mitts from a single ply wool for my daughter. I'll take photos to share.
I do need to get out to my studio and begin my Christmas cards and also cards for upcoming birthdays.
